Role: Senior UX/UI Designer and Team Lead
Overview
The majority of the work I have done at Edward Jones is confidential and cannot be shared online. In turn, please trust that I have done quite a lot in the past two and a half years there. I am a designer on the Enterprise Design team and act as a lead for multiple internal projects, primarily focusing on improving the account opening process that Financial Advisors use to open new accounts for their clients. Below are some details about my responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Senior UX/UI Designer
Work closely with firm stakeholders, Product Owners, and Business Analysts to break down complex requirements into simple user experiences that users can understand.
Present design concepts, articulate ideas, and participate in brainstorming sessions with teammates to ensure the best possible user experience.
Collaborate with UX Researchers, Accessibility Specialists, and Content Strategists to ensure that designs pass usability and accessibility tests.
Collaborate with full-stack developers to translate designs into usable experiences.
Continuously improve the account opening process that thousands of Financial Advisors use daily by identifying user pain points and solving them. Internal metrics show that this work has significantly improved the efficiency of users by helping them to create new client accounts faster and with less mistakes.
Use Pendo to create guides and dashboards that analyze user interactions within the account opening process and to find areas for improvement.
Participate in regular design critique sessions to receive constructive design feedback and provide it to other designers.
Design Team Lead
Act as a Design Lead for a small UX team that supports two agile scrum teams.
Lead multiple projects within the account opening space that often involve navigating complex regulatory, legal, and business requirements.
Organize and facilitate meetings between UX and other teams to ensure all projects are on track and progressing as needed according to previously established timelines.
Senior Consultant
Act as a Team Manager for four other Daugherty consultants at Edward Jones.
Ensure everyone feels comfortable with their workload and is able to complete tasks in an efficient manner.
Support other consultants by helping them improve their skills and tackle challenges at client engagements.
Work within a matrix organization with other managers to ensure all teammates are recognized for their work and evaluated accurately.
